People ask me all the time if I'm a musician and I always answer, “No.” Because I'm not. I'm an artist who works with music and sound sometimes. For the last six years I've created dozens of sound collages under the name UFOverdriver. I'd mix pieces of sound together to create new listening experiences. But I've never had the desire to write or play songs. Until recently…

Since last October I've changed my focus towards learning how to construct songs. I started with Brian Eno-inspired ambient pieces and created over 25 finished pieces. Lately I've turned my attention to learning how popular songs are constructed. To do this I've manipulated MIDI versions of songs – taking songs apart and putting them back together again to learn how all the pieces fit - and recorded and mixed over 40 songs during March. It pays off doing something 14 hours a day for 3 weeks straight - I got a great sense of how I want to make my own songs.

Here are 2 original Professor Yarnhead songs - “Soft Rains (On A Sunny Day)” and "So Blue." Both songs actually includes me singing. For those that known me in the past, I do not sing – but I do now! I'm starting to believe anything might be possible for Professor Yarnhead!
